Peer Review Process
The peer review process is crucial to maintaining the integrity and quality of publications in AQCH. All submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough review by experts in the field of cytology, histology, and pathology.
1. Initial Evaluation Upon submission, the editorial team evaluates the manuscript to ensure it aligns with the scope and standards of AQCH. If the manuscript meets the initial criteria, it is forwarded to peer reviewers for an in-depth evaluation.
2. Peer Review Process
- Double-Blind Review: AQCH utilizes a double-blind peer review system. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous, ensuring impartial evaluation.
- Selection of Reviewers: Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject matter of the manuscript. The editorial board seeks reviewers with a deep understanding of the research area to provide objective and constructive feedback.
- Review Criteria: Reviewers are asked to evaluate several key aspects of the manuscript:
- Novelty and Significance: Is the research original, and does it contribute significantly to the field?
- Methodology: Are the methods used in the research appropriate and rigorous?
- Clarity and Structure: Is the manuscript well-written and logically organized?
- Data Integrity: Are the results supported by adequate evidence and analysis?
3. Author Revisions After receiving reviewer feedback, the manuscript is returned to the authors for revisions. Authors must address all reviewer comments, making necessary changes to the manuscript. A detailed response to each reviewer’s comments is required.
4. Final Decision Based on reviewer feedback and the revised manuscript, the editor makes the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript. If accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production and publication phase.
5. Publication Ethics
- COPE Guidelines: AQCH follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the peer review and publication process.
