Copyright & Licensing

Copyright and licensing policies form the backbone of academic publishing, ensuring both the protection of intellectual property and the accessibility of research.

  1. Copyright Ownership and Responsibilities:

    • Upon acceptance, the copyright of an article is transferred to AQCH to facilitate the effective dissemination, reproduction, and protection of published content.
    • Authors retain the right to use their work in personal, educational, and institutional settings, such as lectures, conferences, or dissertations.
    • Proper credit must always be given to AQCH as the publisher when the work is reused in any capacity.
  2. Open Access Options:

    • To ensure greater reach, authors have the option to publish their articles under an Open Access model, enabling unrestricted access to readers worldwide.
    • Open Access articles are typically governed by Creative Commons licenses, such as CC BY or CC BY-NC, which define how the content can be reused.
    • Authors can also choose a subscription-based publishing model, which grants access to readers through institutional or personal subscriptions.
  3. Third-Party Materials:

    • Authors are responsible for securing permissions for the use of copyrighted material (e.g., figures, tables, or images) not owned by them.
    • AQCH provides guidance and support for obtaining necessary permissions.
  4. Infringement and Dispute Resolution:

    • The journal takes copyright infringement seriously. Any claims of unauthorized use or disputes are promptly investigated, with outcomes favoring the rightful copyright owner.
